Slager has been active in the Alaska Academy of Family Physicians as an ALSO instructor and with the education committee. She continued to do obstetrics and full spectrum Family Medicine until her separation from the Air Force.ĭr. She was lucky enough to be stationed at Joint Base Elmendorf- Richardson from 2012 – 2015 which is where she and her husband fell in love with Alaska. Her focus in residency was Women’s Health and Obstetrics. She graduated from Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Virginia Campus in 2009 and completed her residency at Nellis AFB, NV in 2012. Prior to starting medical school, she worked as an athletic trainer and completed the prestigious Athletic Training Fellowship at the Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, Colorado. Was born and raised in North Carolina where she attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate degree. Erickson enjoys treating the whole family and providing the widest range of services possible to his patients. When he and Heather are not chasing their children, they enjoy traveling abroad, skiing, big game hunting, fishing, and beer. He has been the team physician for the Matsu Miners since arriving in the valley and has served as chief of the medical staff at Mat-Su Regional Medical Center where he continues to remain on active status. He attended MacNeal Family Practice Residency in suburban Chicago with emphasis in Obstetrics and Sports Medicine. Erickson was born and raised in Minnesota where he attended the University of Minnesota-Duluth Medical School. Each year thereafter they added a child to their family for a grand total of four active boys!ĭr. Since that time, they have traveled to Sri Lanka for tsunami relief and have become a huge part of the community. They started Capstone Family Medicine LLC and Eye Clinic LLC in 2003. Erickson has lived in the valley since 2000 with his wife, Heather.
